1. Please plan to finish editing your storytelling project today.

2. Don’t forget to include at least 2 sound effects and opening and closing music.

3. DO NOT post an Audacity project file to Moodle! I can’t listen to it, so you will fail! Export your project as an .mp3 and post that file. Instructions on the blog.

4. If you have finished your storytelling project, you should be working on the new project you discussed with me.

1. Today you need to finish recording your story. Record your music AFTER your done recording your story. Don’t forget to include at least 2 sound effects!

2. You need to be done editing your story with music and sound effects by the end of the double block on Thursday. Then you’ll save it as an .mp3 and post it to Moodle.

Objectives

SWBAT write down a brief story from their own experience

SWBAT record record and edit their voice and add sound effects

Agenda

1. Last Class you should have written a proposal and a script for your audio story, and then posted them both to Moodle.

2. Time it You also should have timed your script before you posted it. If you did not, Google “online timer” and check to see that your story is between 2 and 3 minutes long (without the opening and closing music).

3. Record It Today you need to start recording your story. You will need to have the recording done by the end of our next class (Wednesday). Record your music AFTER you done recording your story. Don’t forget to include at least 2 sound effects!

4. Final Version You’ll need to be done editing your story with music and sound effects by the end of the double block on Thursday.

Objectives

SWBAT write down a brief story from their own experience

SWBAT record record and edit their voice and add sound effects

Agenda

1. Yesterday you should have edited your interview and sounds, exported each to a separate .mp3 and then posted them both to Moodle.

2. Proposal Today everyone needs to start by writing a proposal (minimum 75 words) for the next project. You need to post it to Moodle today, but show it to me first.

3. Details You’re going to make a 2 to 3 minute audio recording of your voice. Your topic will be a story that involves you in some way. I’ll go over the details of that project at the start of class. There is a link to a document describing that document to the right under Instructions. It’s called Storytelling Project.

4. Script After you complete the project you’ll write the script. It should mention your opening and closing music and the sounds effects you plan to include. You need to finish this script before the end of the double block.

5. Time it When you have the script done make sure you time it. Google “online timer” and check to see that your story is between 2 and 3 minutes long (without the opening and closing music).

5. Record It When your script is done (and you are sure it is at least 2 minutes) please show it to me, then post it. You can then start recording your story. Record your music AFTER you done recording your story.

Objectives

SWBAT record a short interview with one or two of their peers

SWBAT record two or three non-human sounds lasting at least 5 seconds each

SWBAT edit and post the interview and sound files

Agenda

1. Last class you should have copied the sound files from your recorder to your USB. If not, that’s a problem – see me.

2. Edit Interview Edit the recording of your interview by removing any sounds that should not be part of the interview, including mistakes and “ahhs” and “umms”.

3. Export your recording to an .mp3 and post it to Moodle.

4. Edit Sounds Create a separate Audacity project with your sounds and put them together in one track. Remove unnecessary parts of each recording. Leave a second or two of dead space in between each sound. Try to match the volumes to make it easier to listen to.

5. Post It Export your recording to an .mp3 and post it to Moodle. You should be done with this by the end of this class.

6. Proposal When you’re done with both, write a proposal for the next project. You’re going to make a 2 to 3 minute audio recording of your voice. Your topic will be a story that involves you in some way. I’ll go over the details of that project at the start of class. Agenda

1. I’m going to assign you a partner for today. Don’t worry about who your partner is – it is probably just for today.

2. We’re going to start using the audio recorders today. You’ll be recording a brief interview with your partner, then you’ll record a few non-human sounds.

3. Then we will edit the recordings you made.

4. If you need one, you will sign up for a USB drive by signing the USB agreement.

1. Welcome to ETerm Multimedia Editing! I’m going to start with a quick overview of the course and my expectations for your behavior.

2. I have a short survey for you to complete so I have a better idea of what you need and want to learn in this course.

3. You will sign up for a USB drive by signing the USB agreement.

4. If we have time we’ll start using the audio recorders to record brief interviews.
